Academic English 12: (Full year class - Required to graduate with honors)

Curriculum includes the same as Regular English 12, but in much greater depth. The class requires outside reading and extensive essay writing. All academic students must perform a 10 minute Power Point presentation based on the Research Project. It is highly recommended that academic students be prepared for the extra work this class requires for graduation and to prepare them for college. It is to be understood that students in this class will be going to college.

  • OU Day (students visit OU and get free application)

  • Outside Reading Assignment

  • Language Arts Computer Labs Located between Rooms 220 & 212 are used for research, and essay writing

  • Job Shadowing

  • Extensive Research Projects

  • Career Passport: Created and personalized by each Senior in order to receive employment

  • Anglo-Saxon Period: Play-do was used to create a symbol from Beowulf.

  • Medieval Period: Dress the part of a Medieval Character from the Canterbury Tales.

  • English Renaissance: Recipe for Evil from Macbeth

  • Sir Gawain: Magical Belt contest, where students used their creativity.

 
English 12: (Full year class - Open to all twelfth grade students)

Twelfth grade English Students will maintain a resource folder, study British literature, acquire an enhanced vocabulary, exercise oral and visual communication skills, and develop a career passport for graduation. All assignments are meant to meet all content standards set by the state of Ohio.
