The Holocaust: The Results of Hatred (semester class - Open to all eleventh and twelfth grade students)

The study of this 20th century event in human terms assists students in understanding the ramifications of prejudice, hatred, and stereotyping. Holocaust study also explores the dangers of remaining silent, apathetic, and indifferent in the face of the oppression of others. This course will be combination of literature, film, art and writing to allow students a more thorough understanding of the Holocaust in its most human terms. If possible, students will meet Holocaust survivors and listen to their personal stories. Journal writing will allow students to connect the most basic human emotions of others with their own.
