Economics - Grade 11-12
Economics is the study of human economic interaction. It begins with micro-economics, which includes supply and deman, the nature of economic systems, the operation of markets, and the behavior of monopolies.
The next section of the course look at economic interaction at the National level, with focus on the role of government in the economy. This includes in depth analysis of fiscal and monetary policy. The course concludes
by examining international economics and the institutions and policies that govern international trade, and a look at various market systems in other countries. Students' grades are determined by a series of essay exams with class
participation factored into the calculation.
