This course focuses on an in depth understanding of the basics of physics and chemistry and those areas of earth science specified in the 9th grade outcomes. Students will be required to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the principals, theories, and laws that govern these disciplines. Other science disciplines will be incorporated where applicable. Preparation for college and training beyond High School is a major emphasis.
General
This course focuses on an introduction to chemistry and physics with those areas of earth science specified in the 9th grade outcome. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of Science to an ever-increasing technological society. Course content covers the tools of science, the nature of science, the structure and properties of matter, chemical reactions, energy and energy transformations, and earth science. Other science disciplines will be incorporated where applicable.
