Rock Hill Middle School will host its National Junior Honor Society induction on May 13th at 9:45 am in the gymnasium. Due to COVID restrictions, the ceremony will be open to participants and those who followed up with an RSVP to the school.
The Rock Hill Local School District Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on May 13, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at the Board of Education office, 2325a County Road 26 Ironton Ohio, with some or all board members may choose to participate remotely via remote technology. While the general public will not be permitted in-person access to the Board meeting due to the Covid 19 restrictions put in place by the governor’s office, the public may access the Board of Education meeting via livestream. Anyone can view the meeting on Rock Hill Local School District Facebook page. Anyone wishing to speak with the board in person must make arrangements with the superintendent at least 72 hours before the meeting.
All Elementary School Students need to turn in their Chrome Books. All HP Chrome Books are being replaced with new ones and you will be able to purchase your old ones if you wish at the price of $21.00. Also, if your chrome book is broke you will be charged to have it fixed. The following is the scheduled time for your child to turn them in:
May 10th will be 5th grade
May 11th will be 4th grade
May 12th will be 3rd grade
May 13th will be 2nd grade and May 14th will be 1st grade and kindergarten.
The second day of the Rock Hill Football Camp will be this Sunday from 3:00-4:30. The camp is now open to any student from Kindergarten through 11th grade. There is a chance of thunderstorms on Sunday. If we have to cancel due to the weather a message will be posted on Redmen live as well as the youth football facebook page by 12:30 on Sunday afternoon.
The Rock Hill Family Medical Center will be offering Free Sports Physicals to all athletes grades 6-12. The Physicals will be conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday starting on April 27th at 1:00. Athletes must turn in a physical form to the nurse in their building as well as a medical center registration packet. The physicals will occur during school hours and athletes will be transported by bus to the medical center.

Awards Day for Rock Hill Middle School students will be Friday, May 21st. Due to covid-19 precautions, students will receive their awards as they cycle through their regular class schedule that day. Awards day will also extend to virtual learning students, who may elect to attend that Friday to transition through classes. It is up to each individual teacher to present their awards during each period they have their scheduled students. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our students safe during this pandemic.
The following is important information for students attending the RHHS Prom this Saturday:
Students should arrive by 6:00. They must park in the teachers lot next to the board office.
Family should park in the student parking lot.
Students will be greeted at the stadium gate and told where to go for the Grand March lineup.
The road behind the cafeteria will be closed off because this is where the food trucks will be located.
I would like to remind middle school stakeholders that tomorrow, April 16th is our in-school virtual Friday with enrichment.
The Rock Hill Middle School National Junior Honor Society induction is scheduled for May 13th at 9:45 am in the middle school gymnasium. Within the next week, letters will be sent to current members and new inductees requiring an RSVP of the individuals planning to attend. Further details will be listed in the letter sent home in regards to building entry protocol and seating arrangements.
This is an important message from the Rock Hill Middle School Administration. The Ohio State Tests for Mathematics will be administered tomorrow, Wednesday, April 14th for all grades. Virtual students will need to arrive at Rock Hill Middle School by 7:30 AM. They will be social distanced in the gymnasium. From that point, they will then be directed to testing sites. After all testing has concluded, virtual students will be allowed to go home via their guardian or individual on their emergency medical card.

The Rock Hill Family Medical Center is offering Dental Services to all students during school hours on Monday and Wednesday. If you wish for your child to participate, please contact the nurse in your child's building.

Rock Hill HS will be hosting “Family Night” tomorrow evening at 6:00 for any student (and his parents/guardians) who is in jeopardy of not receiving credits toward graduation. Dinner will be served and the after school credit recovery plan will be discussed in detail. Please feel free to call the high school tomorrow if you have any questions at all concerning your child’s credit status.

Lawrence County Health Dept. will have walk-in Covid vaccine clinics for anyone 18 years of age and older today 9 am-4 pm, tomorrow 9 am-7 pm, and Friday, 9 am-3 pm. We will have Moderna vaccine. Rock Hill Elementary will be administering the Ohio State Assessments for English Language Arts to all of our virtual students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades on Tuesday, March 30th. We ask all virtual students to please arrive to the elementary by 8:45 in the morning and to bring their fully charged Chromebooks with them for testing. Thank you.
