The Rock Hill Local School District will be closed today 2/13/20 due to excessive flooding throughout the district. Parent Teacher Conferences will still be held in each school building from three to eight thirty this evening. Be safe.

The Rock Hill Local School District will operate on a 2 hour delay schedule tomorrow 2/13/20. We are taking precautions due to a high probability of high water in many areas of the district by morning. The flooding situation will be further assessed in the morning.
Rock Hill Middle School students will receive progress reports in homeroom on February 11, 2020. Parent teacher conferences at the middle school will be this Thursday evening from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
The ACT Prep Course has been rescheduled for this coming Wednesday, February 12th. If you have questions, contact Mr. Gue when school resumes Monday. Thank you and enjoy your weekend!

The Lawrence County ESC has elected to cancel the Lawrence County Science Fair that was scheduled for tomorrow. It will will NOT be rescheduled. Students may bring boards on Monday, if they wish to have them displayed for our staff and students. We apologize for the confusion.
The ACT Prep course originally scheduled for tomorrow (February 6th) has been postponed. As soon as a make-up date has been determined, we will make sure to post it. Thank you for your understanding!
The middle school administration would like to share a series of important messages with families.
First, the Lawrence County Science Fair will still be held tomorrow. This event is optional. If students elect to participate they will need a guardian to transport them to and from Ironton Middle School. Judging will begin at 9:00 AM.
Second, the Middle School boys basketball game scheduled for home tomorrow is canceled. The middle school girls game at Gallia Academy will go on as planned. The middle school building will not be open to students. Students will need to load the bus from their vehicles.
Finally, the dance schedule for Friday is cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
The Rock Hill Local School District will be closed the remainder of this school week 2/6/20 and 2/7/20 to hopefully eradicate the current illnesses our district is enduring. Get well soon.
The Lawrence County Science Fair is scheduled for tomorrow at Ironton Middle School. Early set up is this evening at Ironton Middle from five to six thirty. All participants need to arrive at Ironton Middle School tomorrow morning by eight forty five. Judging begins at nine.
Due to an increasing high number of student and staff absences causing a low attendance count in our schools, the Rock Hill Local School District will be closed on Tuesday 2/4/20 and Wednesday 2/5/20. Buildings and school buses will be thoroughly sanitized during this time. We will be back in session on Thursday 2/6/20.
The Lawrence County Science Fair will take place on Thursday at Ironton Middle School. RHMS students that are competing should bring their projects to school on Thursday. If there is any changes you will receive additional information. Thank you!

Notice is hereby given that there will be a special meeting of the Rock Hill Local board of education of Lawrence County, Ohio, on the 30th day of January 2020 at 6:30 o’clock p.m. at the Rock Hill Board of Education offices to consider the following items Discuss and possibly act on the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, dismissal, discipline or compensation of an employee. Consider and possibly act on creating and posting a pre-school intervention teacher. And any other business that may be considered necessary to transact by the board.
Rock Hill Middle School will be having a Sweetheart Social on February 7th. The event will take place after school till 5:00 PM. Admission is $5. Concessions will be available. This is a casual event, come as you are!
Schools in our county are participating in a drive to supply items to the homeless. RHMS has been selected to take donations of hand wipes/baby wipes. Any individual who wishes to donate can do so by bringing said items to the RHMS office.
The NJHS will have a bake sale at RHMS this Thurs. to raise money for Daniel Summers, a child in our community who was diagnosed with liver cancer.
Stakeholders are also selling $2 bracelets in the office to help cover traveling costs, meals, and expenses for Baby D's recovery.
The Rock Hill Local School District will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday January 20, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at the Rock Hill Local School District board of education offices.
