
The middle school volleyball teams will be hosting a car wash on Saturday July 23rd from 10 to 3 at Advance auto in Ironton. Donations are appreciated. Please come show your support for the girls.

Middle school soccer open fields are Tuesday's and Thursday's from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. each week. Anyone wanting to play is welcome to attend.

There will be a youth soccer camp this Friday and Saturday July 22 and 23rd at the High School Soccer field ( Redmen Stadium) from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Anyone 1st grade through 8th grade is eligible to attend. A waiver will need to be signed in order to participate.
The cost is $30.00 per child if you register before the camp and $40.00 if you register on the day of camp.

The Rock Hill Local School District Board of Education moved its monthly meeting for July from July 11, 2022 to July 21, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the board of education offices.

Notice is hereby given that there will be a special meeting of the Rock Hill Local board of education of Lawrence County, Ohio, on the 8th day of July 2022 at 7:00 o’clock a.m. at the Rock Hill Board of Education offices to consider the following items: consider employment of an High School Principal, the employment, demotion, promotion, dismissal, discipline or compensation of an employee. The Board may also consider any other business that may be considered necessary to transact by board action.

Rock Hill Senior League Baseball will be hosting a Dance for Elementary students on Thursday July 7, 2022. Students who just finished kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade can participate from 5-630. Students who just finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade can participate from 7-8:30. Admission is $5.00 and concession will be available. All students must be signed in and out by an adult.

There is a mandatory meeting tomorrow (Thursday June 30th) at 6 p.m. in the high school gym for any high school student wanting to play football for the 2022-2023 school year. This meeting is for athlete and parents (if available), so they can fill out paperwork. If anyone wanting to play will be out of town on vacation, you will need to message Coach Lutz and let him know prior to the meeting.

Elementary Summer School will begin on Monday, June 27th and run through Thursday, June 30th. Summer school will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately noon, each day it is in session. Students can be dropped off and picked up each day at the 3rd grade wing (purple wing) blacktop door entrance. Students riding the school bus should be contacted by their bus driver this weekend, to let them know what time they will be picked up on Monday.

The Rock Hill Middle School Summer Learning Program will be closed this Monday, June 20th, in observance of Juneteenth. In addition, twelve month employees will not report that day. The Summer Learning Program for those middle school students who signed up will resume Tuesday the 21st. Have a nice holiday.

Any girl wanting to play High School softball for the 22-23 school year. There will be an open field on Monday June 20th from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

There will be a meeting on Monday morning, June 6th, at 10:00 a.m, in the Elementary cafeteria for any high school boy or girl interested in golfing in the Fall sports season.

Those middle school students signed up for our summer program who elect riding the bus will be dropped off and picked up at the main school entrance. Those riding by car will follow same protocol for dropoffs and pickups as done all year. Parent dropoffs will circle behind the building following signs to the drop off stop sign at the west end. If picking up by car at noon, your child will be escorted to the east lot as you await to sign out your child. Breakfast will be grab and go to be eaten during first period class in the morning. Lunch is served to go as students depart for their bus or guardian’s automobile. Our program will run from 8:30 to noon each Monday through Thursday in June.

Any Rock Hill Middle School student wishing to attend our summer program will need to have their guardian signed permission form submitted by Wednesday, June 1, 2022, to the middle school office. Forms will be copied and given to the transportation office for bus routes to be created. The summer program will begin this Monday from 8:30am to noon. Forms are on the middle school webpage or can be picked up in the office. Please note that our summer program is open to any RHMS student wishing to receive additional practice or enrichment.

Any student who needs to submit a summer school permission slip to the middle school will need to do so by Wednesday, June 1st, 2022. Permission slips may be picked up at the middle school office or can be printed from the middle school webpage if you wish to take advantage of this service. Please note that just because you received this message, it does not mean your child has been retained. Retention students have been contacted directly or by letter already. Our doors are always open to any child who needs additional intervention or enrichment. Have a great summer.

All Elementary students need to return their Chromebooks and chargers to the school on Monday, May 23rd.

We would like to remind guardians that report cards were sent this week. Also, summer school will begin June 6th from 8:00am to 12:30 pm. Middle school students who are meeting the status of retention will need to attend in order to be given the opportunity in trying to fulfill the requirements for promotion. In addition, summer school is open to any middle school student who would like to attend to gain additional intervention or enrichment. Please contact the RHMS secretary if you wish for your child to attend. Permission slips must be signed by guardians and submitted to the middle school. Those are available in the office.

Anyone who will be in grades 9 through 12 next school year that will be playing football; summer weightlifting begins on Tuesday Morning (May 31st) at 8:30am and will end around 10am/10:15am.
